This page explains how to find your way around in PhixFlow. We designed PhixFlow to give you quick access to the features you will need at any time. This means you do not need to navigate complex menus. This page explains how to find your way around in the two modes of using PhixFlow.
PhixFlow comprises two parts:
- All the PhixFlow data and items (files) are stored in a database on a server
- As a user, you run the PhixFlow client in a web browser using the URL provided by your administrator.
You can work with PhixFlow in two ways.
: use this mode to work on data analysis models or design application screenscreate applications. This includes designing screens, creating workflows and actionflows, defining data structure and relationships. We recommend that you use design mode on a desktop computer as you require screen space to build analysis models and design application screens.

- mobile device, such as tablet or smartphone.
Administrators can set up PhixFlow so that application users never see

When you run the PhixFlow client in a browser, the PhixFlow window has:
- Optionally, a menu bar at the top of the screen. The menu bar includes:the The PhixFlow header bar. On the left the header bar has:
- the ??9 dot application menu, which opens the Welcome window. This is present in both desktop and mobile views.
- the PhixFlow name and logo, which opens the
Insert excerpt _app_menu _app_menu ; see Application Mode, below.nopanel true - any menu options for the loaded application
- . This is present in desktop views, provide your system has not been configured to show your company's logo instead. You can click the PhixFlow logo to open the Welcome window.
- Below the header bar is a menu bar specific to the currently loaded open application.
