Overview

There are a number of ways to quickly create test data in PhixFlow, which can be manually edited and added to. 

Creating an Editable Grid

Data can be manually added or updated using a simple ERD and Screen setup.

Create a table

1. On an ERD, create a new table (does it have to be a blank ERD or can it be an existing ERD? Can it be a table from the repository/imported in?) by dragging either:

   1. Create a new table by dragging

      Insert excerpt
      HELP100:_tables HELP100:_tables nopanel true

       from the toolbar onto your ERD canvas

   2. Add an existing table by clicking 

      Insert excerpt
      HELP100:_tables HELP100:_tables nopanel true

    from
   1.  on the toolbar, then dragging a table from the Repository onto your ERD canvas 
   2. Import an Excel CSV file by dragging it from your PC onto your ERD canvas

2. If you create a new table, PhixFlow automatically creates adds the following attributes for to the new table:

   1. Insert excerpt
      HELP100:_key_primary HELP100:_key_primary nopanel true

      : UID

   2. Insert excerpt
      HELP100:_display_name HELP100:_display_name nopanel true

      : Name 

   3. To create new attributes for the data you wish to test with, click

      Insert excerpt
      HELP100:_addIcon HELP100:_addIcon nopanel true

      Add on the table, and give your attributes appropriate names

Create a Screen 

1. To create a screen, click 

   Insert excerpt
   HELP100:_more_options_erd_IconOnly HELP100:_more_options_erd_IconOnly nopanel true

    on your table and choose 

   Insert excerpt
   HELP100:_screen_icon_only HELP100:_screen_icon_only nopanel true

    Create Screen
2. On the Create Screen wizard, enter the following:
   1. Name: give your screen an appropriate name
   2. Open Maximised: toggle 

      Insert excerpt
      HELP100:_toggle_off HELP100:_toggle_off nopanel true

   3. Description: give your screen an appropriate description to indicate its purpose
   4. Template: choose Edit Form
      1. 
   5. Click Create Screen
3. To select the attributes you wish to see on your screen, select

   Insert excerpt
   HELP100:_attributes HELP100:_attributes nopanel true

    in the toolbar 
4. Click the tickbox next to the attributes and drag them onto your screen
   1. 
5. PhixFlow will ask how you would like the attributes to be displayed, choose

   Insert excerpt
   HELP100:_grid HELP100:_grid nopanel true

   1. 
6. PhixFlow will ask if you would like to add action, choose Yes
   1. 
7. On the Grid Actions wizard, drag Delete Selected Records onto the Delete button on your screen 
   
   1. 
8. Close the Available Attribute and Grid Actions wizards
9. Click on your grid on your screen to highlight it in the Layers panel on the left within the Body
10. The View Component Properties will show on the right
    1.
