Overview

There are a number of ways to quickly create test data in PhixFlow, which can be manually edited and added to. 

Creating an Editable Grid

Data can be manually added or updated using a simple ERD and Screen setup.

Create a table

1. On an ERD, either:

   1. Create a new table by dragging

      Insert excerpt
      HELP100:_tables HELP100:_tables nopanel true

       from the toolbar onto your ERD canvas

   2. Add an existing table by clicking 

      Insert excerpt
      HELP100:_tables HELP100:_tables nopanel true

       on the toolbar, then dragging a table from the Repository onto your ERD canvas 
   3. Import an Excel CSV file by dragging it from your PC onto your ERD canvas

2. If you create a new table, PhixFlow automatically adds the following attributes to the table:

   1. Insert excerpt
      HELP100:_key_primary HELP100:_key_primary nopanel true

      : UID

   2. Insert excerpt
      HELP100:_display_name HELP100:_display_name nopanel true

      : Name To create

3. Add as many new attributes

   for the data you wish to test with, click

   to your table as you need by clicking 

   Insert excerpt
   HELP100:_addIcon HELP100:_addIcon nopanel true

   Add on the table, and give your attributes appropriate names

Create a Screen 

1. To create a screen using your ERD data, click

   HELP100:_more_options_erd_IconOnly HELP100:_more_options_erd_IconOnly nopanel true

    on your table and choose

   HELP100:_screen_icon_only HELP100:_screen_icon_only nopanel true

    Create Screen
2. On the Create Screen wizard, enter the following:
   1. Name: give your screen an appropriate name
   2. Open Maximised: toggle

   3. Description: give your screen an appropriate description to indicate its purpose
   4. Template: choose Edit Form
      1. 
   5. Click Create Screen
3. The Available Attributes selector will automatically appear, press the cross to close this
4. To select the attributes you wish to see on your screen, select

   Insert excerpt
   HELP100:_attributes HELP100:_attributes nopanel true

    in the toolbar 
5. Click the tickbox next to each attribute, or click the top tickbox to select all the attributes, and drag them onto your screen
   1. 
6. PhixFlow will ask how you would like the attributes to be displayed, choose

   Insert excerpt
   HELP100:_grid HELP100:_grid nopanel true

   1. 
7. PhixFlow will ask if you would like to add actionactions, choose Yes
   1. 
8. On the Grid Actions wizard, drag Delete Selected Records onto the Delete button on your screen 
   
   1. 
9. Close thethe Grid Actions and Available Attribute and Grid Actions wizards
10. Click on your the grid on your screen to highlight it in the Layers panel on the left within the Body
11. The View Component Properties will show on the right - click the View hyperlink

12. In the View Properties, toggle on 

    Insert excerpt
    HELP100:_toggle_on HELP100:_toggle_on nopanel true

     Auto Save
13. Click

    Insert excerpt
    HELP100:_finish HELP100:_finish nopanel true

14. In the Layers panel, click on the area FieldContainer to open its Properties on the right
    1. Click on the 

       Insert excerpt
       HELP100:_property_tabs HELP100:_property_tabs name style nopanel true

        and within the Style Settings section, change the Width and Height to 100%
    2. Click

       Insert excerpt
       HELP100:_finish HELP100:_finish nopanel true

15. Click on the Name header on the grid to open the View Attribute Properties on the right

       HELP100:_property_tabs HELP100:_property_tabs nopanel true

       , within the Grid Settings section, untick Read Only
16. Repeat this step for all of your attribute headers
