geoUnion(Geometry left, Geometry right, Decimal Places), Computes a Geometry representing the point - set which is contained in the two provided geometries.

Function: geoUnion(Geometry left, Geometry right, Decimal Places)

Computes a geometry representing the point - set which is contained in left in the left geometry and the right geometry.

If passed a string the geometry functions will automatically convert it into a geometry object.

Syntax

geoUnion( geometryValueLeft, geometryValueRight, decimalPlaces

ArgumentTypeDescription
geometryValueLeft

WTK String or

Geometry Object

Geometry value being used to calculate the union with geometryValueRight.

geometryValueRight

WTK String or

Geometry Object

The geometry being checked.
decimalPlacesIntegerThe number of decimal places to use in the geometry calculations. Defaults to 0 if not provided. Can also take negative values e.g. -1 uses geometry to the nearest 10.

Examples

geoUnion("POLYGON ((0 0, 0 2, 2 2, 2 0, 0 0))", "POLYGON ((1 1, 3 1, 3 3, 1 3, 1 1))")

Returns a Geometry representing the point-set which is contained in the left geometry and the right geometry.
