  • From stream views
    PhixFlow displays data from a stream in a stream view. Stream views can be a table (grid) or a chart and they have a toolbar in the top right. Stream views are often included in dashboards or in application screens; see Stream View.
  • From a database table
    Either from an analysis model or from the repository, open the properties tab for a datasource. To open a list of the available database tables, in the toolbar, click

  • From the system console
    To open the console, in the task bar at the bottom of the PhixFlow window, click

PhixFlow opens a window with the following options. Select the where you can select the data that you want to export and the file format you require, Microsoft Excel or a CSV (comma separated) file.

Items to Download

If there are selected items on the grid, this field allows you to specify whether just the selected items should be downloaded or whether all items implied by the filter should be downloaded.

Select an option:

  • Export Selected Items
    This option is available if you have selected data records from the grid. PhixFlow automatically limits the download to 500 records. If you select more records than this limit, the extra records will be ignored.
  • Export All Items
    This option exports:
    • either all the data
    • or, if you have applied a filter, all  all items selected by the filter.
Tip

Be aware of how many records will be downloaded if you choose to export all items. In some cases streams or database tables contain millions of records. Downloading many records can take a long time. Please be sure that you want to do this before proceeding.

If you download selected items, PhixFlow sets a limit of 500 records.

Maximum Records Per File

If

you want to export many records (more than 50,000).If

Items to Download is Export All Items, and there are many records,

 specify

optionally specify the

maximum

number of records to export to a file. PhixFlow splits the records into several files and zips them together ready for downloading.

 

If left blank, PhixFlow will export as many records in one file, up to the default system-wide limit set in

PhixFlow uses the system maximum to determine the number of records to save to each file if you:

  • leave this value blank
  • enter a number that is greater than the system maximum.

The system maximum is set in System Configuration → System Tuning section → Maximum Records Per Download

This field is available

for stream views that have

PhixFlow displays the maximum number of records that you can download

You can override this limit, either to reduce or increase it, for specific streams. Use the properties in the Table → Download Limits section.

Use Excel Template

The field is available

for stream data, where the backing stream view has a template configured.

Specify whether PhixFlow should use the Excel template associated with the stream view. If selected, PhixFlow formats the data using the predefined layout in the Excel spreadsheet.
