Overview
A package is a way to share resources between PhixFlow applications; see Understanding Template Packages. Template packages include a palette and default design configuration for your application.

Template Packages packages only need to be installed once. When you install a package on an instance of PhixFlow, the files and data it contains overwrites any existing files with the same name. This means you could lose any changes or customisation you have made. |
Installing Template Packages
- Download the desired Template Package, also known as a Theme, from the PhixFlow Learning CentreNavigate to the Learning Centre, in the download section click on Serene Grey - Configuration to download it.
- From the
menu, select Import Options → Import Configuration.Insert excerpt _administration _administration nopanel true - Navigate to the downloaded package downloaded template package and select it. Click OK.
- Click
.Insert excerpt _upload_button _upload_button nopanel true - The packages are encrypted and password protected. When prompted, enter leave the password :
- Theme 1, password: Theme1
- Theme2, password: Theme2
- Theme 2.1, password: Theme2
- Click ok and PhixFlow imports the package
- The package is now available on your system but must be associated to your application.Optionally, configure PhixFlow to use the palette by default. If you already have a default palette, check that everyone wants to use the new palette as the system default.
- Either set the palette as the default for the entire system by selecting it in System Configuration → General Settings → Default Component Palette. All the applications you create will use Template Package Theme 2 automatically. You can still use tiles and components from other palettes. Or set the palette for a specific application by selecting it in the application properties → Basic Settings → Default Component Palette. Use this option if you want to use different palettes with different applications.Note for version 9.0 and up, when creating an application you will be prompted for your preferred Template Package and a wizard will guide you through the settings.
Associating Packages to an Application
New Applications using Template Packages
When creating a new application, PhixFlow will prompt you for which Template Package you wish to add to your application. PhixFlow then automatically configures your application to use this Template Package..
Existing Application (and Adding Additional Packages)
When you have an existing application, to add a package to the application:
- Open the Application's

- This can be achieved by right-clicking on the application in the repository and selecting
- On the
, scroll down to the Packages sectionInsert excerpt _property_tabs _property_tabs nopanel true - Click Packages to list all the packages in the repository.
- Drag packages into this list.
- The package is now associated to your Application.
- Note this only creates an association which makes the resources in the package available to your application. If you want this a template package to be the default setup for you application contact PhixFlow Support.

Configure PhixFlow to use the Template Package
- Set the template package as the default for the application:
- Either, when creating an application, select the template from the list. PhixFlow automatically configures your application to use its palette
- Or, to change the default palette for your application, go to Application Properties → Basic Settings → Default Component Palette and select the palette you require
