Find your way around PhixFlow

When you first open your PhixFlow training instance, you will see a blank area on the left. This is the modelling pane. The green area on the right is the repository browser. Click on Full Repository to see all the models and associated objects available in PhixFlow.

When you create your first model, and start to add modelling objects, PhixFlow will look like this:

Save models and modelling objects

When you are modelling data in PhixFlow, you will be making changes:

  • to a model, the components objects it includes and its layout.
  • to settings for the model itself, or to settings for its componentsobjects. Use on one of the toolbar icons at the top of the settings tab:

       to save your changes but keep the settings tab open.

       to save your changes and close the settings tab.
Tip

When you save the settings, also remember to save the model. At the top of the modelling pane is The model has another toolbar. Click the

  1. In the repository browser, expand Full Repository, then Analysis Models.

  2. To create a new model, right-click on Analysis Models and select

  3. PhixFlow displays a settings tab for a new analysis model. In Basic Settings, set:

    In the white area on the left, called the modelling pane, PhixFlow opens an a new, empty model.

objects to your model

The modelling pane is the white area on the left. You can have multiple files open in the modelling pane. When a model is open, PhixFlow displays the model name and its toolbar. Drag model components modelling objects from the toolbar to add them to your model.

To drag a modelling component object into your model:

  1. Click and hold the

  2. Drag the icon stream onto the modelling pane.
  3. Then drop the iconstream

To move any component icon object in a model, simply click, drag, then drop the icon in a new location.

When you have multiple components objects in your model, you can also use the layout tools to arrange them:

When you drop a component an object into the model, on the right PhixFlow opens a settings tab.

  1. In the stream settings → Basic Settings, set:
    NamePractice Stream
  2. Click

     to save and close the settings tab.
  3. PhixFlow updates the stream icon in your model to display the name Practice Stream.
  4. Now save your model. Click

     in the modelling pane model toolbar.

Undo a change to a model

Sometimes you may make a change to a model that you do not want to keep. To reverse a change

  1. In your model, drag the stream to a different location.
  2. Without saving, click

  3. You will see Notice that the model return returns to its previously saved layout.
