Overview

Here are the most common tasks when it comes to updating application properties.  For a full list of editing options see This page explains how to change your application icon and the default components. For all the options you can change for an application, see Application Properties.

To edit the icon that appears on the application selection page:

There are two places where PhixFlow displays an icon for the application:

  • In the  header bar when the application is loaded:
    Image Added
  • On the application menu:
    Image Added

To select an alternative image, it must first be uploaded to the PhixFlow database; see Adding Images.

To change these icons:

  1. Open the application.Click Properties
  2. Click

  3. In Application Icon Logo, select the desired image from the drop down.
    1. This image should be held in your application. If you need to add an image see Adding Images.

    We recommend that application logo are:

To change the icon which appears in the header bar:

  2. Click Properties
    • 300 pixels.
  3. In Application Logo Icon, select the desired image from the drop down.

Changing a Default Component

Default components are the components used to create specific types of object automatically. For example the template to use when we drag an attribute onto a screen to create a form field.PhixFlow uses a default component to automatically add a component when you drag tables or attributes onto a screen canvas. For example, if you drag an attribute with a string data type onto the canvas, PhixFlow adds a form field for a string.

If you want to use default components from another package template, first add the package to your application:

  1. Open the application.
  2. Click Properties.
  3. In the Style tab.
  4. Navigate to the Default Components section.
  5. Here we can change the default component entirely to a different template, see Making Template Components, or we can amend the styling see Screen Styling
  6. Click

  7. In the

     → Packages section, show the list of packages and drag in any other packages that you want to use.

To change specific components:

  1. Open the application.
  2. Click

    • Either select a component from the list of available template components.
    • Or select a component from a different template package.

      . PhixFlow opens the repository, showing the available template components. Drag the component you require into the default component field in the application properties, as shown below.

To keep a default component, but to change it's style:

  1. Click on the field heading for a component, for example, Date Component >. The heading acts as a link to open the properties of the selected component.

    Take care before you edit a shared style, as this affects all instances of the component. See Screen Styling for information about how different types of style are applied.
