geoIntersection(Geometry left, Geometry right), Computes a geometry representing the point-set which is common to both the left geometry and the right geometry. |
Function: geoIntersection(Geometry left, Geometry right)
Computes a geometry representing the point-set which is common to both the left geometry and the right geometry.
If passed a string the geometry functions will automatically convert it into a geometry object.
Syntax
geoIntersection( "Well Known Text" Left, "Well Known Text" Right geometryValueLeft, geometryValueRight )
Argument | Type | Description |
---|
geometryValueLeft | WTK String |
or Geometry Object | Geometry value being used to calculate the intersection with geometryValueRight. | |
geometryValueRight | WTK String or Geometry Object | The geometry being checked. |
Examples
geoIntersection("POLYGON (30.10, 45.25)
...
(30 10, 40 40, 20 40, 10 20, 30 10))", "POLYGON ((35 10, 45 45, 15 40, 10 20, 35 10))")
Returns a Geometry representing the point-set which is common to both the left geometry and the right geometry as a String.
