geoIntersection(Geometry left, Geometry right), Computes a geometry representing the point-set which is common to both the left geometry and the right geometry.

Function: geoIntersection(Geometry left, Geometry right)

Computes a geometry representing the point-set which is common to both the left geometry and the right geometry.

If passed a string the geometry functions will automatically convert it into a geometry object.

Syntax

geoIntersection( "Well Known Text" Left, "Well Known Text" Right geometryValueLeft, geometryValueRight

ArgumentTypeDescription
Well Known Text Left
geometryValueLeft

WTK String

Well known text (WKT) is a text mark-up language for representing vector geometry objects.Well Known Text RightStringWell known text (WKT) is a text mark-up language for representing vector geometry objects

or

Geometry Object

Geometry value being used to calculate the intersection with geometryValueRight.

geometryValueRight

WTK String or

Geometry Object

The geometry being checked.

Examples

geoIntersection("POLYGON (30.10, 45.25)

...

(30 10, 40 40, 20 40, 10 20, 30 10))", "POLYGON ((35 10, 45 45, 15 40, 10 20, 35 10))")

Returns a Geometry representing the point-set which is common to both the left geometry and the right geometry as a String.
