Tests whether the left geometry is topologically valid, according to the OGC SFS specifications.

If passed a string the geometry functions will automatically convert it into a geometry object.

Syntax

geoIsValid( geometryValue  geometryValue, decimalPlaces

WTK String or

Geometry Object

The geometry used by the calculation to determine if it is topologically valid.
decimalPlacesIntegerThe number of decimal places to use in the geometry calculations. Defaults to 0 if not provided. Can also take negative values e.g. -1 uses geometry to the nearest 10.

Examples

geoIsValid("POLYGON ((30 10, 40 40, 20 40, 10 20, 30 10))")

Returns a Boolean true if the geometry is topologically valid, according to the OGC SFS specifications.
