The Stream Data Export pane can be used to export data from selected Streams. The pane can be opened from the Administration Menu in the bottom right of the screen.

Select Streams for data export by dragging them from the repository to the export pane. Streams can be selected individually or an Application or Package may be dragged onto the pane to export data from all Streams in that Application or Package.

If a password is specified on the export pane then all data will be encrypted, and the password will be required for import. If a password is not specified then all data will be exported unencrypted.

The compress tick box on the export form can be used to compress the exported data files. If this is not ticked the data will be exported as an uncompressed zip archive.

This process can be used to export data from Streams to import into another system. For import the Streams must already exist on the target system so a Configuration Export may be required to create the Streams before data can be imported.

Overview

Use the Data Export window to export data from selected tables, applications or packages.

To export data you must have the Export Table Data privilege, which allows you to export data from tables, packages and applications. You do not need the privilege to view the data in order to export it.

You may want to export data from tables in PhixFlow to then:

  • archive or review data files
  • import the data into another system
  • import the data into another PhixFlow instance where the tables already exist.
In this case, we recommend using Configuration Export to export the tables themselves; see Export Configuration.

    Password

Optionally, enter a password that PhixFlow will use to encrypt the export file.

    Note

Remember this password. You need to provide it when you open the zip archive or import it to another system or PhixFlow instance.

    Compress

PhixFlow creates a zip archive of the data containing a set of XML files for each table included in the export.

  4. Click Export Data. PhixFlow generates a zip archive and saves it to your computer's download folder.
The zip archive contains a set of XML files for each table included in the export.
