Overview
The ability to export data is controlled by the "Export Stream Data" permission. Users with this permission can export all data from streams, packages and applications even if they would not otherwise have the correct access permissions to view the data.
The Data Export pane can be used to export data from selected Streams, Applications or Packages.

Overview
Use the Data Export window to export data from selected tables, applications or packages.
To export data you must have the Export Table Data privilege, which allows you to export data from tables, packages and applications. You do not need the privilege to view the data in order to export it.
You may want to export data from tables in PhixFlow to then:
- archive or review data files
- import the data into another system
- import the data into another PhixFlow instance where the tables already exist.
In this case, we recommend using Configuration Export to export the tables themselves; see Export Configuration.
How to Export Data
You can choose what data to export from the Export Data window.
- Click the
icon, in the top right of the PhixFlow header bar.Insert excerpt _administration _administration nopanel true - Click Select Export → Data,
- Select the required tables or application for export by dragging them from the repository to the export pane.
- Tables can be selected individually or an Application or Package may be dragged onto the pane to export data from all Tables in that Application or Package.
- Specify the export rule if required, see Export Rule below.
- If a Password is specified on the export pane then all data will be encrypted, and the password will be required for import. If a password is not specified then all data will be exported unencrypted.
- The Compress tick box on the export pane can be used to compress the exported data files.
- If this is not ticked the data will be exported as an uncompressed zip archive.
This process can be used to export data from Streams to import into another system. For import the Streams must already exist on the target system so a Configuration Export may be required to create the Streams before data can be imported.
Export Rule
When items are dragged onto the export pane, they will appear under an Export Rule. This determines which Recordsets are exported from those items. The default option is to export all data.
To edit the rule,
- Select the required value from the dropdown.
- Number of Recordsets
- If a number of recordsets is specified these will be the most recent from the Table.
- Date Range
- The date range will select recordsets with a to date within the selected range. Data Export will export both OK and Incomplete recordsets.
