By the end of this chapter you will be able to:

• Use Show All Successors to add components to a model.
• Use Show All Predecessors to add components to a model.
• Use Show Models to list models which an object appears in.

Using Show All Successors and Show All Predecessors to add components to a model view

1. Create a new model and give it a name.
2. Drag the table Latest Package Update (you created this table in exercise 11) on to the model.
3. Right-click on the table Latest Package Update and select 

   Insert excerpt
   _object_predecessors _object_predecessors nopanel true

4. All the components that are used to build the data in this table appear in the model.
5. Right-click on the table Latest Package Update and select 

   Insert excerpt
   _object_successors _object_successors nopanel true

6. All the components that use the data from this table appear on the model.
7. Right-click on the table, Latest Package All Channels, and select 

   Insert excerpt
   _object_predecessors _object_predecessors nopanel true

8. All the components used to build this table appear on the model.

9. In the model window, click 

   Insert excerpt
   _save_saveModel _save_saveModel nopanel true

   .

Using Show Models to list models which an object appears in

1. Open the list of tables in the repository.
2. Find the table Latest Package Update.
3. Right-click on the table and select 

   Insert excerpt
   _model_show _model_show nopanel true

   .
4. All the models this table appears in will be listed.

2. Double-click on one of the models listed to open it.
