About saving

When you are modelling data in PhixFlow, you will be making changes

  • to a model, the components it includes and its layout
  • to settings for the model, or for specific components.

When you save the settings, also remember to save the model.

There are two ways to save settings. In the settings tab, use one of the toolbar icons:

  • Click  Save to save your changes.

When you save the settings, also remember to save the model. At the top of the modelling pane is a toolbar. Click the  Save to save the model.

Create and open a new model

  1. In the repository browser, expand Full Repository, then Analysis Models.

     How?

  2. To create a new model, right-click on Analysis Models and select
Error rendering macro 'excerpt-include' : No link could be created for '_add_object'.
     Analysis Model.
  3. PhixFlow displays a settings tab for a new analysis model. In Basic Settings, set:
    Name: Introduction to Modelling

  4. Click  Save.
  5. In the settings tab toolbar, click

Add components to your model

The modelling pane is the white area on the left. You can have multiple files open in the modelling pane. When a model is open, PhixFlow displays the model name and its toolbar. Drag model components from the toolbar to add them to your model.

To drag a modelling component into your model:

  1. Click and hold the
Error rendering macro 'excerpt-include' : No link could be created for '_add_stream_calculate'.
     icon.
  2. Drag the icon onto the modelling pane.
  3. Then drop the icon.

To move any component icon in a model, simply click, drag, then drop the icon in a new location.

When you have multiple components in your model, you can also use the layout tools to arrange them:

Change component settings

When you drop a component into the model, on the right PhixFlow opens a settings tab.

  1. In the stream settings → Basic Settings, set:
    NamePractice Stream
  2. Click  OK to save and close the settings tab.
  3. PhixFlow updates the stream icon in your model to display the name Practice Stream.
  4. Now save your model. Click  Save in the modelling pane toolbar.

Undo a change to a model

Sometimes you may make a change to a model that you do not want to keep. To reverse a change

  1. In your model, drag the stream to a different location.
  2. Without saving, click  Refresh.
  3. You will see the model return to its previously saved layout.
