This page is for administrators who need to set up a directory where PhixFlow can save files.

When PhixFlow generates CSV or Excel files, it saves them to a secure folder, called the download folder.  Set the location of the download folder in System Configuration → System Directories → File Download Location

Users can then access the folder to download a file.

Processes that save files to the download folder are:

  • Exporting configuration or stream data.
  • Running an analysis model that exports a file
  • Running an action in an application that exports a file.

Data Security

PhixFlow automatically deletes files after a period of time. By default files are available for 24 hours. You can set a different time period in System Configuration →  General Settings → File Download Expiry

PhixFlow encrypts the files and requires a password to unencrypt the files. The password is set by the user when they start the process that generates the file.

You can also apply a password policy to the passwords that users create for files saved to the download folder. To do this, define the Password Policy, and set it in System Configuration → Advanced → Export Password Policy. New user accounts created in PhixFlow version 8.1.0 and will have automatically have the password policy.

For user accounts created in versions earlier the version 8.1.0, you will need to set the password policy
