This page is for data modellers or application designers. It explains the properties for relations.

Overview

Check whether or not you can see relationship properties.

Under the hood Need to decide where to put this...

Relationship diagrams are important because they tell PhixFlow how data in different tables is connected. Once you have defined these relationships, you can create data views that combine attributes from different fields.

Need example.

When you create a relationship diagram, for each table (stream) and relationship, PhixFlow creates items in the repository; see the diagram below.

There are additional properties that you can optionally configure for the streams, stream attributes and relationships. In a diagram, you can double-click on a table name, attribute or relationship to open its properties. Alternatively, you can find the item in the repository.

The relationship properties are described on this page.

Properties

For information about the properties toolbar, and about the sections Parent Details, Analysis Models, Description and Audit Summary, see Common Properties.  We recommend you always add a Description that explains the purpose of the item you are creating.

For a full list of all the PhixFlow property tabs and windows, see Properties, Windows, Menus and Toolbars.
