By the end of this chapter you will be able to:
- Copy Stream data to a new version of a Stream
- Move Stream data to a new version of a Stream
- Open the model Channel Package Check
- Select the Streams Combined Updates_2 and Latest Package Update_2
- Right-click on the background in the model view and select Copy Selected Objects
- Run Analysis on Channel List Reconciliation twice
- Since you ran this Stream at the end of the previous exercise, there will now be three runs (Stream Sets) in each of Streams Combined Updates_2 and Latest Package Update_2
Copying Stream data to a copy of a Stream
- Open the Stream Set list for Combined Updates_2
- Drag - Drag icon to move or copy Stream data on top of Combined Updates_3
- Check the Stream Set list in Combined Updates_3; you will see all the data copied to this Stream
- Rollback all data in Combined Updates_3 – see exercise Error! Reference source not found. (remember to untick the Keep Old Stream Sets flag)
- Open the Stream Set list for Combined Updates_2
- Select two of the Stream Sets – it is not important which two, but they must be next to each other in the list
- Drag these on top of Combined Updates_3
- Check the Stream Set list in Combined Updates_3; you will see the selected Stream Sets copied to this Stream
You can copy any contiguous set of Stream Sets from a Stream to a new version of that Stream.
Copying Stream data to a modified copy of a Stream
- Rollback all data in Combined Updates_3 (unticking the flag Keep Old Stream Sets)
- Open the configuration form for Combined Updates_3, and delete the attribute Source
- Copy all data from Combined Updates_2 to Combined Updates_3
- You will see a warning message that some of the data is not going to be copied - continue with the copy
- Check the Stream Set list, and the contents of each Stream Set, in Combined Updates_3, to see that all the data has been copied to the attributes that are still in place
Moving Stream data to a copy of a Stream
- Open the Stream Set list for Latest Package Update_2
- Drag the icon Drag icon to move or copy Stream data on top of Latest Package Update_3
- In the Copy/Move Stream Data form that pops up, press the button Copy Data to toggle the operation to Move Data
- Click to complete the operation
- Check the Stream Set list in Latest Package Update_3 to see that the data has been moved to this Stream
- Check the Stream Set list in Latest Package Update_2 – you will see that the Stream Set list is now empty
Moving Stream data to a modified copy of a Stream
- Move all data back from Latest Package Update_3 to Latest Package Update_2 (remember to toggle the operation to Move Data)
- Delete the attribute SalesDate from the Stream Latest Package Update_3
- Move all data from Latest Package Update_2 to Latest Package Update_3
- You will see a warning message that some of the data is not going to be copied - continue with the move
- Check the Stream Set list, and the contents of each Stream Set, in Latest Package Update_3 to see that all the data has been moved to the attributes that are still in place
- Check the Stream Set list in Latest Package Update_2 – you will see that the Stream Set list is now empty
