Associating More Text with a Field

Sometimes you need to associate more text with a field. Labelled fields automatically have a label, usually above them. However, you may want additional text below the field. For example you might want to add some static text next to a labelled text field, to explain what the user can do. Or you might want to change the label of the field depending on some value on the form.

1. In the dashboard, create the new component you want, such as a static text field or a label.

2. Double-click the field container to open its properties.

3. In the Advanced section, the View Type is Field container. From the drop-down list and select the empty row.

4. Save the field container.

5. Go to the repository and find the same field container (Layout → area-name → field-container-name)  and the new component.

6. Shift-click and drag the new component into the field container. PhixFlow moves your object to be a child of the field container.

7. Important: Open the field container properties again and restore the Advanced → the View Type  to Field container.
