This page is for PhixFlow users who move applications or items between PhixFlow instances.

When you use the Administration menu → Export options, PhixFlow generates an exported configuration zip file and saves it to the download area for a limited time; see Configuring the Download Area. Large files may take some time for PhixFlow to generate. Once the file is generated, PhixFlow opens the download area. Alternatively, you can open the download area from the task bar. Click  Downloads.

To download a zip file:

  • either click on a file's row to select it, then in the toolbar, click  Download File.
  • or double-click on the file's created date.

To ensure data security, PhixFlow can encrypt the file when you download it. When it encrypts the file, PhixFlow asks for a password to associate with the zip file.

If you have set a default Export Password in your User Details, PhixFlow autofills the prompt. At this point you can:

  • clear the password (if one has been autofilled) to download the file unencrypted, if your Password Policy permits this
  • accept your default password
  • enter a different password.

You must remember the password so that you can provide it when you import the file to another PhixFlow instance. You cannot de-encrypt a file to view its content.

In the Save Password check box:

  •  Untick to prevent PhixFlow saving this as your default export password.
  • Error rendering macro 'excerpt-include' : No link could be created for '_check_box_ticked'.
to save this as your default export password. This updates the field in your User properties.
If you do not have a default password or it has expired, and you would like to autofill the password for the next download, tick this box.

Click  to download the file.

To subsequently import the zip file to another PhixFlow instance use the Administration menu → Import Import Configuration option; see Import Configuration.
