Overview

There are several places where you can use the  Download data to file button to export data as a Microsoft Excel or CSV (Comma Separated Variable) file.

  • stream views
PhixFlow displays data from a stream in a stream view. Stream views can be a table (grid) or a chart. Stream views are often included in dashboards or in application screens.have a toolbar in the top right.
  •  Console → Archive Log tab
  • datasource properties →  Show Tables

To export the data displayed in the stream view, click the toolbar button  Download data to file.

PhixFlow opens a window with the following options. Select data that you want to export and the file format you require, Microsoft Excel or a CSV (comma separated) file.

FieldDescription
Items to DownloadIf there are selected items on the grid, this field allows you to specify whether just the selected items should be downloaded or whether all items implied by the filter should be downloaded.

Please be aware that if you choose to download all items, on some grids this might mean that PhixFlow would begin downloading a very large number of items e.g. millions of records. This may take quite some time so please be sure that you want to do this before proceeding.

If you choose to download just selected items, PhixFlow will set a limit of 500 records.

Maximum Records Per FileWhen you want to download a large number of records (e.g. more than 50,000) PhixFlow can split the results into several files and "zip" these together before downloading. This field specifies the maximum number of records to place in any one file.

If left blank, PhixFlow will export as many records in one file up to the default system-wide limit set in the  System Configuration; see the System Tuning section, Maximum Download Size.

Maximum Download LimitRead only. This field is only visible if there is a limit to the number of records you may export from this stream. The limit is set in the System Configuration; see the System Tuning section, Default Stream View Download Limit. If you select more records than the limit, the extra records will be ignored.
Use Excel TemplateThe field is only visible if the backing Stream View has a template configured. This field indicates whether PhixFlow should use the Excel template associated with the Stream View. (Note that this template is set up on the Stream View form). If selected, PhixFlow will format the output file according to the formats defined in the Excel spreadsheet.
