This page is for PhixFlow administrators, modellers or developers who need to restrict access to specific columns of data in grid views. For related information, see the PhixFlow User Administration topic.

Overview

In some cases you may not want all users to view sensitive data that appears in the columns of a grid view. You can prevent such columns (attributes) from being visible to all users and optionally configure access for specific user groups.

Stage 1  Open the attribute properties

There are several ways to open the attribute properties.

Option 1  From an analysis model

  1. In an analyis model, Hover over a table icon.
  2. In the pop-up toolbar, click Attributes. PhixFlow displays the list of attributes for the table.
  3. Double-click an attribute name to open its properties.

Option 2  From the table properties

  1. Open the properties for the table.
  2. Expand the Attributes section.
  3. Double-click an attribute name to open its properties.

Stage 2  Restrict access to the attribute

  1. In the attribute properties, switch to the  Security tab
  2. Expand Access Permissions.
  3. Untick All Users Can View Data. PhixFlow displays a grid to which you can add user groups.
  4. To add a user group to the list:

    1. Click  User Groups (see the icon in the green circle in the screenshot below). PhixFlow opens a list of all the user groups in the repository.

    2. Drag a user group into the Access Permissions list.

Only users who belong to the user groups listed in the Access Permissions will be able to see this attribute as a column in a grid view.
