The password reset mechanism allows you to reset your password if you have forgotten it. This only works for local users.

Form: Password Reset Request

If a local user has forgotten their PhixFlow Password, they can use this form to request a password reset.

Users who login using a Microsoft Windows username and domain (or other external authorization mechanism) cannot use this option to reset their password, and should instead contact their local administrator or support desk.

Note that users are configured to use one of the password policies that you set up. A property of a password policy is whether users are allowed to reset their passwords. Therefore not all users will be allowed to perform this request.

Also note that in order for a successful password request to occur the entered username must be valid, the user must have a valid email address for the request to be sent to and the user must have also correctly configured all 3 security questions and answers. If all these conditions are met, then the password request is issued by sending an email to the requested users email address. The email will contain an embedded link which the user must click to continue with the password reset process.

Enter your login name:

FieldDescription
Login NameThe PhixFlow username of the user that requires the password reset.

Form: Password Reset

To complete a successful password reset, a user must select and answer a specific security question.

Note that users are configured to use one of the password policies that you set up. Password policies that allow password resets also have configured properties to set the maximum time that can elapse before the embedded email link expires. Also they specify the maximum number of security question/answer attempts allowed before locking down the password reset functionality for this user.

If the security question is answered correctly and the new password/confirmation password entered match and agree with the corresponding password strength conditions of the underlying password policy, then the user's password is successfully reset/changed.

The following fields are configured:

FieldDescription
Select QuestionSelect a security question previously set up by the user.
AnswerThe answer to the selected question.
New PasswordThe new password which the user wants to set.
Confirm PasswordConfirmation of the new password which the user wants to set.
