Introduction
PhixFlow provides
...
some standard layout templates and styles
...
that you can use when building new applications.
Each time you import the templates the system will create new copies of the template objects, which you can then modify and/or customise. You should consider these objects to be part of the application(s) that you have configured
If you (intend to) have multiple PhixFlow instances (e.g. to separate development from production), you should import the template components file into your first instance, then use Export/Import to replicate those components to your other instances.
You should import this file into your new PhixFlow instance if
- this is your first PhixFlow instance, or
- you expressly want to create new copies of the standard components
Don't worry if you are unsure about this - you can return to this step at any time.
How to Import the Template Components file
This assumes that you have completed the installation to the point where you can login as an Administrator.
To import:
...
- The templates file is called $release/install/templates/phixflow_templates.xml
- Copy this file to somewhere local e.g. (on Windows) Downloads
...
- Choose the local copy of phixflow_templates
- Click Open
- Click OK
...
When you use a layout template or style in an application, it becomes part of the application, even if you have not added any customisation. This means that if you move an application to a different PhixFlow instance, you must include the layout template and styles. Use the Administration menu options Export Full Configuration or Open Export Pane to include the templates and styles in your package.
