User groups are used to define roles and restrict access to specified processes and data in PhixFlow.

When you add modelling objects or applications to the user group, remember to check their Access Permissions. If All Users Can View Data is unticked, then you must provide access to the object:

  1. Assign user groups to the object.
  2. Add the user(s) to one of those user groups.

Basic Settings


FieldDescription
NameThe name of the user group.
External Login Groups

The names of the external login groups that will be mapped to this user group. Use {instance} to include the PhixFlow instance name. See Configure Active Directory Integration for details.

Separate multiple names with a semi-colon. Spaces are taken to be part of the group name.

External Login Groups Evaluated(Read only) The names of the External Login Groups with this PhixFlow instance name filled in where {instance} has been used.

Users

The list of users assigned to this group. To add PhixFlow users to the list:

  1. Click  Usersto bring up the list of users in the repository.
  2. Drag users into this list to add them to the group.

Only existing PhixFlow users can be added to a group in this way. To add external users, use the Basic Settings → External Login Groups  field set a group (or groups) of external users, then map the external login group(s) to a PhixFlow user group. 

To remove users from the group, use the  Delete in the toolbar.

Roles

The list of the roles assigned to this group. To add roles to the list:

  1. Click  List Roles  list the roles in the repository.
  2. Drag roles into this list to add them to the group.

To remove roles from the group, use the toolbar button  Delete.

Streams

The list of the streams assigned to this group. To add streams to the list:

  1. Click 
    Error rendering macro 'excerpt-include' : No link could be created for '_show_streams'.
      list the streams in the repository.
  2. Drag streams into this list to add them to the group.

To remove roles from the group, use the toolbar button  Delete.

Dashboards

The list of dashboards assigned to this group. To add dashboards to the list:

  1. Click  Dashboards to list the dashboards in the repository.
  2. Drag dashboards into this list.

To remove dashboards from the group, use the toolbar button  Delete.

Stream Views

The list of the stream views assigned to this group. To add dashboards to the list:

  1. Click

      to list the streams in the repository. Expand a stream to see its views.
  2. Drag views into this list.

To remove stream views from the group, use the toolbar button  Delete.

Stream Actions

The list of the stream actions assigned to this group. To add stream actions to the list,

  1. Click  Stream Actions to list the stream actions in the repository. Expand a stream to see its actions.
  2. Drag actions into this list.

To remove stream actions from the group, use the toolbar button  Delete.

Applications

A list of the applications assigned to this group.

  1. Click
    Error rendering macro 'excerpt-include' : No link could be created for '_applications'.
    to list the applications in the repository browser.
  2. Drag applications into this list.

To remove applictions from the group, use the toolbar button  Delete.

Members of this User Group

Use this option to control which users can add or remove users from this group.

 Tick  A user can add or remove users from this group if they have one of the privileges:

  • Administer Users, User Groups and Roles
  • Add and Delete Users from a User Group

 Untick A user can add or remove users from this group  if they have one of the privileges:

  • Administer Users, User Groups and Roles
  • Add and Delete Users from a User Group and the group must be in the user group list in the Access Permission section.
  • and the group must be in the user group list in the Access Permission section.
User GroupsAvailable when Restrict Who Can Manage Members of this User Group is ticked.

The form provides the standard form icons.
