This page is for PhixFlow administrators, modellers or developers who need to restrict access to specific columns of data in grid views.

Overview

In some cases you may not want all users to view sensitive data that appears in the columns of a grid view. You can prevent such columns (stream attributes) from being visible to all users and optionally configure access for specific user groups.

Stage 1  Open the stream attribute settings

There are several ways to open the stream attribute settings.

Option 1  From the model

  1. Hover your mouse pointer over the stream, and click
Error rendering macro 'excerpt-include' : No link could be created for '_stream_attributes'.
. PhixFlow displays the list of attributes for the stream.
  2. Double-click an attribute name to open its settings.

Option 2  From the stream settings

  1. Open the settings for the stream.
  2. Expand the Attributes section.
  3. Double-click an attribute name to open its settings.

Stage 2  Restrict access to the attribute

  1. In the attribute settings, expand Access Permissions.
  2. Untick All Users Can View Data. PhixFlow displays a grid to which you can add user groups.
  3. To add a user group to the list:

    1. Click  User Groups (see the icon in the orange box in the screenshot below). PhixFlow opens a list of all the user groups in the repository.
    2. Drag a user group into the Access Permissions list. In the screenshot below, the user group for Buyers has been added to the list.

Only users who belong to the user groups listed in the Access Permissions will be able to see this stream attribute as a column in a grid view.
