Forms: Alarm Generator

Alarm Generators contain the configuration that defines the checks that PhixFlow carries out on collected and analysed data. They define the conditions which cause an alarm to be raised.

See Generating Alarms for an overview of creating Alarm Generators.

The following are the top-level configuration parameters for alarm generators:

Form: Alarm Generator Details

The following fields are configured on the Details tab:

Field Description
Name The name of the stream.
Enabled Whether or not the stream is enabled to run.
Period This is the period of the stream. This can be either a regular period, or variable. There are three possible settings:
  • Daily: generate or collect data every day.
  • Monthly: generate or collect data every month.
  • Variable: generate or collect data since the more recent run of the stream to the current date.
Start Date The date that this stream starts. Data will be populated into the stream from this date onwards.
Updates Alarms Whether, when new alarms are created by this alarm generator, alarms that already exist with a matching key are updated with the new details; or a new alarm is created.
Alarm Context Free text field with a description of the context for the alarm.

The following fields are configured through separate tabs on the Alarm Rules tab:

Generation See the Alarm Generation Rule Details form.
User Assignment See the User Assignment Rule Details form.
Notification See the User Notification Rule Details form.
Priority See the Alarm Priority Rule Details form.
Status See the Alarm Status Rule Details form.
Workflow See the Alarm Workflow Assignment Rule Details form.
Advanced On the advanced tab you can specify what PhixFlow will do with alarms that are superseded when the alarm generation is reassessed for a period - follow the instructions on the screen.

The following fields are configured through separate tabs on the form:

Field Description
Files Files that are associated to the alarm generator can be appended here.
Alarm Evaluation Shows the list of measurements configured for the alarm.
Description Description of the alarm generator.

Form Icons

The form provides the standard form icons as well as the following:

Shows the stream sets of the stream.

Runs analysis for the alarm generator.

Shows the model predecessors of the file collector.

Shows alarms generated by the alarm generator.

The form also provides the following icons on the Alarm Rules, Files and Alarm Evaluation tabs:

Shows the list of Users.

Shows the list of Alarm Priorities.

Shows the list of Alarm Statuses.

Shows the list of Workflow Models.

Deletes the selected object from the list.

Adds a new object to the list.

Shows the list of Measurement Types.
