This page is for administrators who want to enable PhixFlow to convert Excel files to PDFs when exporting from analysis models.

Overview

When creating analysis models, data modellers can configure a file exporter to export data from PhixFlow in several different formats, such as CVS or Excel. For Excel files, there are options to convert the file to PDF format:

  • Convert To PDF
  • PDF Target Path

For information about these options, see File Exporter.

Configuration

PhixFlow uses LibreOffice libraries to convert an Excel file into a PDF.

To configure PDF conversion:

  1. Install LibreOffice Version 6.4 on the PhixFlow server. It is available from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/download/

  2. Add the path for the LibreOffice program folder to the Tomcat classpath.
For example, you can add the add the path to the:
    • system's CLASSPATH environment variable
    • common class loader in catalina.properties, which is a standard part of the Tomcat server configuration.

Monitoring

PhixFlow reports on the PDF convertion process in the system console PDF Chore tab.
