Overview

Template packages only need to be installed once.

When you install a package on an instance of PhixFlow, the files and data it contains overwrites any existing files with the same name. This means you could lose any changes or customisation you have made.

A package is a way to share resources between PhixFlow applications; see About Template Packages. Template packages include a palette and default design configuration for your application. PhixFlow provides several template packages, which have the name Theme. We recommend you install all these template packages to provide different look-and-feel designs for your applications.

Installing Template Packages

  1. Download a template package, also known as a theme, from the PhixFlow Learning Centre.
  2. From the  Administration menu, select Import Options →  Import Configuration.
  3. Navigate to the downloaded package and select it. Click OK.
  4. Click  Upload.
  5. The packages are encrypted and password protected. When prompted, enter the password:
    1. Theme 1, password: Theme1
    2. Theme2, password: Theme2
    3. Theme 2.1, password: Theme2
  6. Click ok and PhixFlow imports the package.

Configure PhixFlow to use the Template Package

  1. Optionally, set the template package as the system default.
    1. If you already have a default palette, check that everyone wants to use the new palette as the system default.
    2. Go to  System Configuration → General Settings → Default Component Palette and select the palette you want to use.
All the applications you create will use the Palette from the Template Package.
  2. Set the template package as the default for the application:
    • Either, when creating an application, select the template from the list. PhixFlow automatically configures your application to use its palette.
    • Or, to change the default palette for your application, go to  Application Properties Basic SettingsDefault Component Palette and select the palette you require.
