Overview

This page explains how to change your application icon and the default components. For all the options you can change for an application, see Application Properties.

Changing the Application Icon

There are two places where PhixFlow displays an icon for the application:

  • In the  header bar when the application is loaded:
  • On the application menu:

To select an alternative image, it must first be uploaded to the PhixFlow database; see Adding Images.

To change these icons:

  1. Open the application.
  2. Click  Properties.
  3. In Application Logo, select the image you want to use in the header bar.
When you click this logo, PhixFlow opens the application menu.
We recommend that application logo are:
    • height: up to 40 pixels
    • width: up to 300 pixels.
  4. In Application Icon, select the image you want to use in the application menu.
We recommend that application icons are:
    • height: up to 100 pixels
    • width: 100 to 150 pixels.

Changing a Default Component

PhixFlow uses a default component to automatically add a component when you drag tables or attributes onto a screen canvas. For example, if you drag an attribute with a string data type onto the canvas, PhixFlow adds a form field for a string.

If you want to use default components from another package template, first add the package to your application:

  1. Open the application.
  2. Click  Properties.
  3. In the  Properties tab → Packages section, show the list of packages and drag in any other packages that you want to use.

To change specific components:

  1. Open the application.
  2. Click  Properties.
  3. In the  Styles tab → Default Components section
    • Either select a component from the list of available template components.
    • Or select a component from a different template package.
Click  Templates. PhixFlow opens the repository, showing the available template components. Drag the component you require into the default component field in the application properties, as shown below.

You can also create your own template components, see Making Template Components.

To keep a default component, but to change it's style:

  1. Click on the field heading for a component, for example, Date Component >. The heading acts as a link to open the properties of the selected component.
  2. In the component properties →  Styles tab change the styles;

Take care before you edit a shared style, as this affects all instances of the component. See Screen Styling for information about how different types of style are applied.
