By the end of this chapter you will be able to:

Adding a new role

In this exercise you will create a new role. The intention of this role is that it can be added to user groups that already have the User role, so that in addition to the standard User privileges, it will allow users to also manage alarms.
Press the button Show the list of Roles in the left hand menu bar. Press the '+' button to create a new role. Give this role the Name: User Plus.
To complete configuration of the new role:

• In the Privileges tab, press the button Show the list of Privileges.
• In the Privileges list, click the button marked Show a Detailed List.
• From the detailed list of privileges find Delete Alarms, select it and drag it into the privileges list in the Role Details form.
• Similarly, find privileges to allow users to create, modify and delete files (files can be added to alarms to support investigation/resolution – and add these to the role.
• Save your changes.

Check that the privileges to allow users to modify alarms and modify user tasks already belong to the role User.

Adding a user group

Press the button Show the list of User Groups in the left hand menu bar. Press the '+' button to create a new user group. Give this user group the Name: Users Plus.
To complete configuration of the user group:

• Go to the tab Roles
• Drag in the roles User and User Plus
• Save your changes

Adding a new user

Press the button Show the list of Users in the left hand menu bar. Press the '+' button to create a new user. Set the following details:

• First Name: your first name
• Last Name: your last name
• Language: English (GB)
• Email Address: your email address
• Login Name: a user name for yourself
• Password: set a password for yourself
• Confirm Password: repeat your password
• Allow Login: tick
• Go to the tab User Groups
• Drag in the user group Users Plus
• Save your changes

Test your new user

Log out of PhixFlow, and log back in as your new user.
Test that you can delete alarms.
Log out of PhixFlow, and log back in as the user train.
