Mandatory pipes

By the end of this chapter you will be able to:

• Create and use mandatory pipes
• Drag the Streams
  • Customers with Broadband
  • Customer Addr

on to your model

• Merge these Streams, using CUSTOMER_REF as the joining attribute
• On the pipe linking Customers with Broadband with your Merge Stream, tick the flag Mandatory

Look at the number of records in each of Customers with Broadband and Customer Addr. Look at the number of records in your merge stream. You will see that you have a record in the resulting merge only for key values which exist in Customers with Broadband.
