Applications and Packages

Packages are a way of organising components in PhixFlow. One package may be used by several applications and one application may use several packages. Packages may be used to group objects required by a number of applications.

When importing an application, if the application already exists on the target system it will be updated. This means any object which is in the application on the target system but not in the imported version will be lost. For Streams the stream set data will also be deleted permanently. If objects have been moved from an application to a package, the package must be exported along with the application so that those objects will be moved to the new package during import and not deleted. If an object has been moved to a package which hasn't been imported, it will be deleted. To reinstate the deleted object, repeat the export and import process with the application and package at the same time.
