Localising Applications

This topic is for application designers who need to set region-specific settings and translations for an application.

By default, your application uses the system defaults for country locale, language and date format. Your administrator sets the defaults in System Configuration. If your organisation needs PhixFlow to use different regional settings, for example for offices or users in other countries, the administrator can configure multiple locales, languages and date formats; see Configuring System Localisation.

Use your application properties to configure the date and number formats you want to use in your application. Use the options in  Properties tab → Basic Settings:

  • Default Date Format
  • Default Date/Time Format
  • Default Number Format

Each option has a drop-down list of the formats that have been configured for your instance of PhixFlow.

If you want your application text to appear in another language, you can create a translation table. This includes entries for all the text in the application that can be translated, along with the equivalent text in each language you require. PhixFlow then uses the user's locale to determine which language to use; see
