Screens allow application users to interact with the data in your application.
A screen is made up ofcomponents(the smallest building block), which are things like areas, static text and form fields. These are used to display data from a table and is explored further in /wiki/spaces/HELP12/pages/9729245185.
Here are the key areas when navigating screens:
1 | Layers
A typical screen has a layered structure, in which one component is nested within another component. This structure is shown in the screen Layers which can be found on the left of all screens in Design Mode. For more on Layers, see /wiki/spaces/HELP12/pages/9749889025.
2 | Canvas
The canvas is where your screen is created and where you will drag components onto from the palette or repository. The Locked version of your screen is what application users will interact with.
3| Screen Toolbar
The toolbar shown at the top of all screens contains buttons that display further options on the right of your screen, such as tables that can be dragged onto the screen to display their data or palettes containing prebuilt components. For more on the toolbar, see /wiki/spaces/HELP12/pages/9748611075.
4 | Palettes
Palettes contain prebuilt components that can be dragged and dropped on the canvas to display them. We recommend using the Serene Grey palette to get you started before creating your own to fit your business requirements. For more on palettes, see /wiki/spaces/HELP12/pages/9751691265.
5 | Menus and Options
Screens contain multiple dynamic menus according to which part of the screen you are clicking on or hovering over. For more on menus, see /wiki/spaces/HELP12/pages/9749954561.
