Actions on Grids and Charts
Overview
Actions can be added in three locations:
- Double-click action
- A button, as an action within a grid attribute column (grids only)
- Dragging and dropping, as a drop target. See Drag Types and Drop Targets
Adding a Double-Click Action
To add an action as a double-click action to a grid cell or chart element:
- Right click on a grid to Show the View Configuration
- Open the Actions tab
- On Double Click Action select either Table Action or Actionflow as an action type
- Select or create the appropriate action. See Configuring Actions.
Add a Button to an Attribute Column
To add an action to a grid attribute column:
- Click on the grid column header to open the attribute property editor.
- On Double Click Action select either Table Action or Actionflow as an action type.
- Select or create the appropriate action. See Configuring Actions.
- Optionally, set the following:
Option | Description |
---|---|
Always Show Action Icon | Tick to always display the action icon in read-only grid cells. The user can click anywhere in the cell to run the action. Untick to only display the action when the user moves their mouse over the icon. |
Hide the Input Field | Untick to display the input field in the column. |
Hide the Action Icon | Untick to display the action icon in the column. This option is not available for editable columns (i.e. where Read Only is disabled), this is because the icon cannot be hidden where clicking the icon runs the action. If the column is Read Only, this option is available because clicking anywhere in the grid fires the action. |
Action Icon Style | The style applied to the action icon. If no style is set, PhixFlow uses a default icon, . |
To add an action to drop target
- Right click on a grid to Show the View Configuration.
- Open the Actions tab.
- Open Drop Targets and click Add New.
- Provide a Name.
- Select the appropriate Drag Type. If unfamiliar, see Drag Types and Drop Targets.
- On Drop Action select either Table Action or Actionflow as an action type.
- Select or create the appropriate action.
