geoIntersection
Function: geoIntersection(Geometry left, Geometry right, Decimal Places)
Computes a geometry representing the point-set which is common to both the left geometry and the right geometry.
If passed a string the geometry functions will automatically convert it into a geometry object.
Syntax
geoIntersection( geometryValueLeft, geometryValueRight, decimalPlaces )
Argument | Type | Description |
---|---|---|
geometryValueLeft | WTK String or Geometry Object | Geometry value being used to calculate the intersection with geometryValueRight. |
geometryValueRight | WTK String or Geometry Object | The geometry being checked. |
decimalPlaces | Integer | The number of decimal places to use in the geometry calculations. Defaults to 0 if not provided. Can also take negative values e.g. -1 uses geometry to the nearest 10. |
Examples
geoIntersection("POLYGON ((30 10, 40 40, 20 40, 10 20, 30 10))", "POLYGON ((35 10, 45 45, 15 40, 10 20, 35 10))")
Returns a Geometry representing the point-set which is common to both the left geometry and the right geometry.
