Restricting Access During System Maintenance

Restricting Access During System Maintenance

This page is for administrators who need to restrict access to PhixFlow during system maintenance processes.

During essential system maintenance or upgrades to a new release it is a good idea to prevent

  • users from logging into PhixFlow
  • scheduled processes from running.

There are system configuration options to do this. Before using them, you must make sure the Administrator role has the following privileges:

  • Restricted Login Only
  • Restricted Login TaskPlan Processing

Consider if there are other roles for users who require system access, such as PhixFlow support or consultants.

Before starting system maintenance in System Configuration, tick the following options:

  • Only allow users with the restricted login permission to log in
  • Only allow users with the restricted permission to run task plans and actions
This option prevents scheduled task plans, as well as user-triggered:
    • task plans
    • analysis on models
    • any table-actions
    • rollback.

Task plans that are already running are not affected by selecting this option.

When maintenance is complete, remember to untick these options again to permit users to login and processes to run.
