geoNorm

Function: geoNorm(Geometry value, Decimal Places)

Creates a new geometry which is a normalized copy of the geometry provided.

If passed a string the geometry functions will automatically convert it into a geometry object.

Syntax

geoNorm( geometryValue, decimalPlaces

Geometry Object

The geometry used to create the normalized copy of the geometry.
decimalPlacesIntegerThe number of decimal places to use in the geometry calculations. Defaults to 0 if not provided. Can also take negative values e.g. -1 uses geometry to the nearest 10.

Examples

geoNorm("POLYGON ((30 10, 40 40, 20 40, 10 20, 30 10))")

Returns a Geometry which is a normalized copy of the geometry provided.
