geoIsValid
Function: geoIsValid(Geometry value, Decimal Places)
Tests whether the geometry is topologically valid, according to the OGC SFS specifications.
If passed a string the geometry functions will automatically convert it into a geometry object.
Syntax
geoIsValid( geometryValue, decimalPlaces )
Argument | Type | Description |
---|---|---|
geometryValue | WTK String or Geometry Object | The geometry used by the calculation to determine if it is topologically valid. |
decimalPlaces | Integer | The number of decimal places to use in the geometry calculations. Defaults to 0 if not provided. Can also take negative values e.g. -1 uses geometry to the nearest 10. |
Examples
geoIsValid("POLYGON ((30 10, 40 40, 20 40, 10 20, 30 10))")
Returns a Boolean true if the geometry is topologically valid, according to the OGC SFS specifications.
